I think my last Lion Rampant unit - Foot Men-at-Arms.
I have enough figures for two retinues which gives me a lot to choose from.
I'm fairly pleased with these figures though I wonder if their shield designs look a bit Art Deco?
The Charles Rennie Mackintosh Knights?

Splendid stuff, Donald.

That's a nasty bunch of blokes, Donald. I take it you're building a Scottish force?
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?
Re: Lion Rampant unit
Not really. One pal is doing an El Cid retinue, another a Norman force & my mad mate from Perth has 3 retinues - a Crusader, Knights Hospitallers & Outre mer retinues.
My lot are, in my mind, a wandering band of European mercenaries - landless knights, second sons, disinherited lords & various attached scum & hangers-on.
One option when you come to Brisbane, if time is an issue, is to have a game of Lion Rampant - over in 2 hours.

I played my first game of Ryan Lampant on the w/e before last and my mate and opponent wrote it up on the LAF forum

I fancy playing a more conventional game with 24 figure units etc using the stats and rules if I get around to organising it

Thanks, Donald. I hope to get the chance to take you up on that. "landless knights, second sons, disinherited lords & various attached scum & hangers-on." So you are doing Scots?
VB, it was a good read. If you try it with 24 figure units let us know how it goes, please.

VB - amazing game! Not that I'm an expert but like all the "simple" games, there's a range of cunning tactics to learn & use.
It is really worthwhile to have 30+ points of units so you can choose the optimal force for a specific game.
For example, depending on the scenario, the composition of your retinue is vital. More of the mobile mounted troops, if you need to seize an objective, missile units if you have to defend, stolid infantry "speed bumps" if you want to slow down your opponent etc. Equally, the scenario will suggest which of the "super Powers" you need to buy.
And Spanner.....as the adjective "drunken" was missing, no I'm not doing Scots.

Re: Lion Rampant unit
Hang on, "drunken" would mean Irish, wouldn't it? My Irish half is appalled that you would hijack that adjective to use for the Scots! And Spanner.....as the adjective "drunken" was missing, no I'm not doing Scots.
