What's the best paint you've found for.....
.....#1 - Khaki Drill (as in 8th Army clothing not webbing - already got 2-3 for that)?
This is for 28mm figures, but if you've worked in other scales, feel free to include that info.
Manufacturer/range, type (acrylic, enamel, oil etc), colour and finish.
Much appreciated.....

Humbrol 72 enamel, but the acrylic equivalent looks identical.

Humbrol 72 is the colour used for the turbans on my Sikhs here (with a touch of white added for highlight). It's also the standard weathering colour I use for vehicles:BaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 2:49 pm .....#1 - Khaki Drill (as in 8th Army clothing not webbing - already got 2-3 for that)?

Desert colour, rather than Italy?
Contrast Skeleton Horde. Agarros Dunes is a good Afrika Corps colour.

Thanks. I don't use enamels any more, and to be honest, I've found recent purchases of Humbrol acrylics rather watery, but will give it a go anyway (apologies to the Count, but the "watery" ones were all blues.....).
Quick question - would a despatch rider on a motorbike be likely to come from the Military Police and - if a Sikh - would he have a red turban? (I have had a mate convert one of the Perry "despatch riders" using a Sikh head and it would be nice to add a splash of colour!)

Dispatch riders were typically from the Royal Corps of Signals or Indian Corps of Signals, though virtually all unit headquarters had their own organic 'runners' with motorcycles, for maintaining secure comms within the unit.BaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Mon Oct 02, 2023 9:46 amThanks. Military Police rode motorcycles, but they weren't dispatch riders.
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think Indian Military Police wore red turbans - they wore a red 'belt' diagonally across the turban (worn high on the left and low on the right), with the corps badge on the front. Non-Sikh MP units also wore parade turbans in the field - the type with the 'fan' on the left side.

Yes, but I quite like the look of the lighter-coloured polished wood.
