Oldest wargame figures still in your possession

Post by BaronVonWreckedoften »

These must be figures you purchased new from the actual manufacturers (at that time), have never been owned by anyone else, and which were bought for wargaming.

I'll start off - 15mm Dixon Marlburians from when they were first released back in the mid-/late-1970s (when I was still a teenager).
Kein Plan überlebt den ersten Kontakt mit den Würfeln. (No plan survives the first contact with the dice.)

Battle Honours 15mm Napoleonics; among Tony Barton's first releases to North America, mid 1980's.

I've still got some 1970s-vintage Heritage Miniatures 'Napoleonettes' lurking at the back of a cupboard somewhere, but they're very much in the scrap-pile.

In terms of useable figures, I've also still got some 1980s Battle Honours Napoleonics left in my collection, as well as some superb Denizen sci-fi figures.

Probably Hinchliffe 25mm Austrian SYW or Rafm 25mm F&I war or some Platoon 20 US and Russians (cold war) 20mm or even Hotspur 20mm Afghans all dating from the early - mid 1980s.

Anything earlier was sold or given away.....

Oh yeah, Hotspur... I've got a load of their SCW figures from the mid-80s.

Probably some Woodland Indians that I bought at a Bring & Buy in the early eighties at some forgotten wargames show that I intended to use for Pony Wars

My Britains Deetail are right beside me, from about 1981/2 onwards. I've got Lamming and Hinchliffe ancients though bought recently. In terms of wargames figures probably nothing older than about 15 years now after several clear outs.
