The Baroness is a product of Carlow/Dublin (mother) and Western Isles/Glasgow (father). During her 20 years at British Aerospace, her accent was "identified" as belonging to every part of the - forgive me - Anglosphere from Somerset to Rhodesia/Zimbabwe, via Australasia, EXCEPT Ireland and Scotland.DougM wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 12:35 pmI'm strangulated Lallans (mostly beaten out of me) with a bit of Doric, Dundee and Angus Glens, added 2 years Canada, 27 years Strine... who knows what I sound like!ochoin wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 9:05 am I don't speak Doric. I was making an ethno-centric point to Dougie.
Lallans is my mother tongue. I can usually follow Strine (not 'Strain' though to speak it you must do this to your vocal chords).
My understanding of it was beaten into me when I first went to school.

Nice. Incidentally... what am I buying? Blame the Baron, stl files to print off a Sikh platoon for Chain of Command. Just need to scale them to match my Perries.

He also printed my two for me (including some replacement turrets with open hatches - cheers!!!), to go with my Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.
(And, if memory serves, he bought the last two Warlord ones in a Black Friday sale a few years back, so he's actually got a fleet of them.)

Re: What are people buying?
You mean you are doing the what if scenario for Malaya where they were properly equipped and competently led?
Re: What are people buying?
I'd settle for adequate supplies of 0.5 Vickers ammunition, and a clear command structure. That would be a great start. I've often thought Malaya/Singapore would make a great map campaign.
