Louisbourg Vauban defences test build.

Post by Willz the Wargamer »

As Mrs H was out in town crimbo shopping with the Daughter in law.
I laid out the Louisbourg fortifications on the floor in the front room, it is 9 up to 10 feet in length all
that is required to build is a harbour / curtain wall where the sea will be about 2 foot.

I changed the layout of the Dauphin battery as this shape works better, giving three breaches.

Cheers Neil, you can't beat Warrior Miniatures sadly they appear to have stopped production.

I must confess, I didn't realise that they were still going. A recent visit to PMT for something else, suggests that one of the two owners (John) was very ill and also suffered a close family bereavement back at the end of 2021; apparently, he didn't recover as well as was anticipated from the hospital stay, which is presumably why they still haven't started up again.

The sculpting and casting quality makes some of the ranges look a bit dated now (those painted SYW figures look good though), but I can recall when everyone was raving about them back in the 1970s. Shame, as they were nice people to do business with, and some attempt to update the older ranges might have made them more commercially successful.

That set up looks really good, by the way!

Cheers Baron,
I love Warrior miniatures, I want to buy 30+ drummers for a project.
Oh and Sergeant's and officers.

In terms of the drummers, maybe look at retail stockists as they might have a disproportionate number they may want to get rid of.

Brilliant, mate.
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?

Do any retail stockists stock Warrior Miniatures? If so does anyone know of them.

Cheers for all your kind comments and support.
It's getting there the seafront and harbour wall need building which is a simple build.
Just the mechanics of forces involved to work on.
Guy and myself have plenty of troops but do not want too many defenders or too few attackers .
We also want the game to be fast and furious and not a slow siege.

Might name the game "fast and furious 1747 the Louisbourg drift" :-D
