Undoubtedly wonderful sculpts but personally not for me.

I was gifted a handful of resin test casts by Matt when we were visiting in June. They are made to see if any modification is needed on individual figures or mold positions I believe. I have painted these four as a trial for when my Kickstarter figures arrive in due course. There are close up pictures over on my blog for anyone interested.

Splendid figures. I was so tempted by these but had to resist.

I was tempted and even put a £1 backing on to make sure I had the option. But in the end just too many anachronisms for my taste. Still nice figures just a bit ahistorical.

Yup.....too many Archers with too much armour, all the arms and armour present draw from a range of periods well outside of the Viking period, both back to the Vendel era and forward to the High Medieval.
I almost ordered some unarmoured Bondi as they (obviously) don't suffer so much from those issues but there was always one or two in each pack that don't quite work with the historical data we have from archaeology etc...
I know the economics of selling packs vs individual figures but this is one time when I would have picked some up if I could have chosen individual figures.
Like I have said a lot during the campaign as Viking style figures for semi historical games or for people who don't care, they are lovely figures in great poses, they just aren't for me as I want them closer to, what the data suggests, they actually looked like.
I think it also encompasses the irritation that they were being marketed as "The best Viking figures and range ever created" when if you want historical, they aren't.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Paul, much appreciated. You state your case with some certainty, I'd almost think you were there. I've always thought myself that armour items continued in use far beyond the so called period they are assigned to in pre industrial societies. Your point about archers and armour strikes me is a little odd too, surely there might be a case for a warrior having both sword/axe and bow? Anyway, I enjoyed reading your reply. I wonder if anyone from Footsore will chip in with their perspective at some point?
