I am still painting up my 10mm DBACW armies and once I have got some bases at Partizan I can get them based up.

In the interim I thought I would try some of my old 28mm ACW on bigger DBACW compatatible bases.

I used 60 by 40mm bases. Figures are Redoubt with a couple of Foundry figures thrown in. Although I had to add a little extra height to the Foundry figures to match.

My ACW basing is influenced by the David Greenspan Chancellorsville picture.

Splendid figures, Mark, and I remember a teacher at school showing us a book of these battle scenes. Still awesome even now.

Those ACW figures are really very good.
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!

It's been a while since I played a game of DBN. So yesterday I set up the 1st day of Gettysburg for DBACW

I have used the scenario from Fire and Fury for the map and orders of battle. The game will be played using the DBACW supplement for the DBN rules.

Image

The table is 3ft by 2ft 6in and my units are based on 60 by 30mm with each base representing a brigade.

Image

I am using standard 1" equals 100 paces as this keep ranges realistic for a game using a brigade as the basic unit.

Image

For this game I translated Fire and Fury unit qualities to DBACW as follows:-

Green - Militia
Experienced - Muskets
Veteran - Muskets but brigade is Stoic for all combat.
Crack - Elite.

If a brigade had 10 or more Fire and Fury stands then it was gets the DBN Stoic trait.
Conversely if a brigade has 5 or less stands then it has a new Skeddadle trait and loses all tied combat rolls.

Battlereport to follow.
