A fortified place

Post by ochoin »

The excellent Anyscale sent me a few pieces I needed to complete my Scottish fortified town - some wall sections & a ruined tower. To this tower, I added a floor from wooden sticks I had. There was a small gap in the walls, so I scratch-built a postern-gate on one side.

I cleaned, based & painted & dry brushed these and added them to the existing pieces, making a rather neat model, I think.

It looks rather grim which suits a place with a Covenanter garrison. Cold, wet, humourless & mouldy. And that's just the garrison.

I'd like to receive table-space on the table in our ECW gaming. The question is whether it should be simply 'eye-candy' or represent something important in the game.

I'm not sure. Could I build some siege works, with a few heavy artillery pieces & a line of gabions? Could our ECW armies try to fight there way to relieve the garrison? any other ideas?

Or maybe just 'eye-candy' after all.
