My Mahdist War collection has not seen outside storage for several years so I decided it was time to re-vamp & then game.
I'd previously built 2 Nile steamers for or games but found I could add some improvements - nautical items such as life preservers etc, some added on bits to the boilers - various pipes & handles - a barge & some more crew.
These should add scenario possibilities.
I'm also thinking about using Black Powder rules in place of our modified The Men Who Would Be Kings set. Nothing really wrong with TMWWBKs but it's a little gim crack for bigger battles.

They look good, Donald. Laser-cut MDF or scratched?
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?

Excellent boats though for the Nile!
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!

I designed them & my little pal with the laser cutter did the needed.
best bits - you can't clearly see them in the photos - are the boilers. I began with the top of a garden hose fitting & used all sorts of bits from the Spares Box.
