Just so's ya knows, I've provisionally booked the Village Hall for the Saturday & Sunday. Some utter bucket has already booked it for the Friday evening.

Good heavens. Who would do such a thing!

What we need now is bodies and a count up. How much will the hall cost for the two days Mr P?

So far thats:

Peeler
Paul (maybe x1 day)
Simon
Andy
Iain
Tim H
Tim W
Purps

Perhaps we should agree on a 'breakpoint' of what we want to pay for hall hire? By what I think it cost this year 16 x £30 = £480. That means we need 10+ players each day to make it below £50 each. Which might well be doable. Peeler might correct the maths?

I cant seem to see the Lodge prices on Booking.com as far as Nov but the nearby Air BnB was great and has x3 rooms. Its just round the corner from the lodge and a shorter walk to the hall.

Also, if anyone wants a game of Rapid Fire Reloaded, the Mouen scenario from the little A5 book then let me know. I'm making the forces from.the book with a view to gaming it at some point. Hope to have it ready by November. Could do it at Battleground show otherwise?

This will probably boil down to the same discussion as last November.......to play at the Village Hall or the Lodge. Ten does indeed seem to be the magic number......that's ten people actually turning up of course.

I'm hoping to be there but I need to wait a bit to see what horse events Caroline has pencilled in. She typically doesn't know what she's likely to qualify for until June or July.
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

Excellent.

I think the conversation with Peeler largely had us booking the hall in the first instant and swapping to the Lodge if numbers didn't meet the required level. The 'decision' one way or the other could be made later in the year (I'm thinking August).

It happens to be the regular meeting of the Astronomical Society. Damn those star gazers.

I've yabbed with the booking clerk & to have the village hall from as early as we want from Saturday morning, overnight until Sunday 5pm, would be £340.

(I know this makes the Friday evening seem expensive, but we have it from 4pm and leave our stuff in overnight, thus we are still 'using' the hall all evening & overnight & so can't book any other paying customers in).

Have a think & decide soonest so I can tell the Hall so that they can rebook if we aren't using it, and I'm happy with either.

Thank you Mr P.

That's very reasonable considering the quality of the facilities, and there would be a 'free' game in the Lodge on the Friday.

When do we have to make a commitment on the hall?
