Given that we've now got around a dozen attendees I think it reasonable to reconsider - what's the maximum number that would be comfortable in the Lodge? How many tables can we set up? (I think we need a couple of 10-12ft by 6ft tables on the Saturday at least). If the answers to both of those are satisfactory then we may not need the hall (which will save each of us the cost of half a round of drinks in the lodge bar) but if not, or it looks like being a squeeze, then it's worth considering.
Just my two pennies worth.
Each May and November I try to remember to measure and count the tables. Never have yet.

Looking back at my piccies, I believe the tables are 2'6" x 4' and, I'm reasonably certain that there are ten tables in the Breakfast room. I see that our 'shiny' games used six tables (5' x 12'). I don't imagine there will be any problem nicking a table or two from the main restaurant/conservatory if we need them.

I'm not sure why we would need two 6' x 10/12' tables on the Saturday because, as far as I can tell, there's only one big game planned. I'm sure someone will put on another game but, as no one has claimed any space, I assume they're happy to squeeze in somewhere or to use the Nook.

I think we did measure them and they were were the size you've quoted.

Does it help to have a summary of what people have suggested so far ? This is what i think i've gleened from this thread over the last couple of weeks. If it doesn't help i'll go back to painting my pikemen where i will be happier :)

I can keep this maintained if people would like to let me know updates/mistakes etc

I'm just the reporter of inactivity. People can herd themselves ..... to nowhere in particular it seems :)

But I think that so far it shows we don't really have a space or table constraint ? Unless someone pops with a 15 table Vietnam game

Hotel Tim is visiting tomorrow. When I'm done slapping him for the 'hall' comment I'll try to persuade him to give some details about his proposed WWII game. I suspect it'll be on the Sunday to take advantage of minimal table use on that day in the Breakfast Room.

Pemps and I are talking about finally playing our much postponed Saga game. It can be squeezed in anywhere/anytime, and will suit the Nook.

Peeler wrote: Sat Aug 24, 2024 6:12 pm Right you 'orrible lot. I've gone through it all again. .... Mr Hall, I blame you personally 😁

It's booked out to the Astronomical's on the Friday evening until about 11ish, so we could have it all day Saturday and Sunday until our usual tea time, at a cost of £340 (divide by ten, or more if some are also coming just for the day).

Sort yourselves out and post up your choice, Hall or Lodge 🙂
Just bringing Peeler's question back to the front.
