I can hear what you're all saying you know.
Re: Ayton 15th-17th November 2024
Splendid, thank you.

Gentlemen
Simon's excellent and invaluable chart indicates that there will now be fourteen of us attending over the weekend and, that the need for table space is also greater (and of course the space required to comfortably move around the tables). That being the case, an executive decision has been made to move the Saturday and Sunday games to the village hall. This will involve a cost, as previously discussed, but which will be spread a little thinner.
The decision to move to the hall also avoids any possibility of being disappointed over the weekend by the Lodge. Given the increase in games and players I thought I'd best make certain that the Lodge remained on board. Unfortunately, their responses have been rather cryptic about when we'd be able to use the Snug (which we'd now need to use on both days). Frankly, I'm struggling to understand what they're telling me - I think all is well but I'm loath to take a risk, particularly as I know you'll all blame me if things go tits up and you have very, very, long memories.

Fear not, gentlemen. A decision will be reached in time for the weekend of 22nd-24th November.

Circumstances have changed with increased numbers and also the Lodges vague(un)reliability. Seems a very sensible decision Iain

The lodge is now full on booking.com though they might have space if you phone direct?

I can't verify the games because that's nothing to do with me.
