I wonder if kiddie toys would fit the bill? Otherwise two or three trucks and an armoured car might prove to be a bit expensive if I go down the 28mm metal route. I have come across MDF stuff but could be a pig to fit together?

Models of Yesteryear and Lledo ranges are available on Ebay for not much money....I might even be able to sort you out with a truck or two!
You do have to be a bit careful though as they are nominal scales but widely used for VBCW.

Ken - have a look at warbases for WW1 era trucks etc

In case anyone is worrying about this - people shouldn't stress out too much about politics. The North Yorkshire factions are only loosely aligned to the ongoing civil war. There are much more important things at stake - e.g. pies.

The carriers are from empress- the opel from warlord games but the others from Warbases
