It's compulsory.
12 line infantry, 6 light infantry, 6 cavalry are usual. But any size will do

Do you paint them in historical type uniforms?

I’d get the ones played by David Walliams.

Yes old chap. The setting and back story are fictional but it's historical troops, 1880 to 1900 give or take a few years.

I've just noticed this, (as it would be very difficult for me to come i'd been avoiding this thread), I don't think I could make it but i'm very jealous of people getting a run out with the shinies

Re: Framlingham and the Law 12th October 2018.
If I can make it for some of the weekend, is it ok if I turn up without my own shiny soldiers?
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

Of course Mr P, turn up on either day and there will be troops available. Always room for another commander.

Update:-
Right chaps, I have just returned from the Crown and confirmed the booking and secured it with a deposit. The cost per head for the weekend will be £45.00. This year I have not booked a buffet, in order to keep your costs down. If anybody does want a bite to eat at lunch time it can be ordered from the bar as can drinks etc. I will take care of the evening dining arrangements, if I can have some idea of who will be dining on Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday evenings. I have also reserved two rooms at The Crown should they be required for additional participants. We will have access to the rooms on Friday evening so the tables can be set up in advance, allowing us to get cracking ASAP on Saturday morning.
I trust this meets with your approval.
