I quite like FB for it's ease of posting photos etc... But dislike the difficulty of keeping parts of your life separate! Most of my F1 friends have no or less interest in wargames and vice versa!
Never really got into inline gaming, except for GPRO (F1 Management) which I have been playing for over ten years.

Well done Ronan. In truth I am so un tech savvy, but I'd rather be painting and playing with toy soldiers, I generally look at fb when I am waiting for paint to dry on a figure. And I had to kick a very unhealthy online gaming addiction. And I am a grumpy ole git too!!
there's a grumpy old wargamers group on FB, with some familiar names there. You'd fit right in Tim.
Look at the member's list old chap. Mind you some of them are terminally grumpy. Makes me feel positively perky.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

Respect!!!
I have a Facebook account, but only to see increasingly desperate friend-requests from people I can't abide and then ignore them...

I do not have a farcebook or twatter account and have no interest in acquiring the former

Social media is a minefield for anybody in clinical care, academic and/or proprietary research, so I’m doubly averse.
Every now and again there’s an issue within the trust over some social media faux pas - usually dumb, or cringeworthy, or jaw-droppingly unprofessional - never less than entertaining.

And it’s not just the obvious, either - there are some relatively subtle ways to screw the pooch.
Our regional research network decided to launch a twitter account to publicise events and study launches. A senior management-level staff member links it to his own personal twitter account, thus spreading the good news to his own circle of acquaintance. So far, so good.
Unfortunately, the link he set up was reciprocal.
Everybody looking at medical research in the North-East, North Cumbria and Borders also got matey’s personal business.
Turns out he’s a massive closet Trekkie. Could have been sooooo much worse.

Absolutely.
I relented after all these years and finally got a Twitter. But fake name, fake email, fake everything and only use it purely for wargaming.
It’s a nice quick fix of varied wargaming goodness that you probably wouldn’t be exposed to. Although I appear to have amassed a lot of warhammer bits, every third picture is a space marine.

What I really like on Twitter is that I assume some people don’t notice that when they ‘like’ something, that it is broadcasted to everyone who follows them. Either that or they are simply not bothered by the endless catalogue of porn that attaches to their name.
(Not complaining- the mixture of finely painted miniatures and snapshots of history interspersed with tits and Fannie’s is a cocktail I wholly approve of.)

That’s how it starts.
Before you know it, you’re desensitized and you need detail shots of a Leman Russ just to reach completion.

I'm in Lincolnshire, support Boro and like pictures of Leman Russ's. This thread is making me feel like EB.
