Re: What's on your workbench?
Workbench = more bloody Saxons! And having splashed out on some Warlord Saxon command last month I had a tidy up
yesterday and found the Foundry Saxon command I bought at Partizan last year... They are lovely crisp detailed figures that needed barely a touch with the file to prepare them. Unlike the three sodding Perry mounted Hospitallers that I spent ages trimming and filing to get all the crap off before I could prime them!!!! Grrrr.....

Very nice Jeremy, that's going to look great on the table. Hopefully you won't draw the 'via the swamp' card for your approach route...

I have looked at Foundry a few times at shows and been put off by the bad castings, considering the price they charge.Count Belisarius wrote: ↑Sun Jul 22, 2018 5:43 pm Workbench = more bloody Saxons! And having splashed out on some Warlord Saxon command last month I had a tidy up

Re: What's on your workbench?
It very much depends on the range with Foundry and how long the moulds have been in service. I bought some hoplites about five years ago and the castings were perfect, a quick dab with a needle file and the whole pack was paintworthy in less than ten minutes. I bought the same code in February this year and dremel, clippers and coping saw were all needed, about forty minutes per figure.

Re: What's on your workbench?
I've only used a few of the Foundry ranges. And all have been spot on. I've only used a few metal Perry's and they've all needed work....
Re: What's on your workbench?
The extra work removing vents etc... on Perries I've always thought was down to the level of detail and undercuts on their figures. Still a huge pain in the posterior though!
