The painting looks fine, I think your problem is with the uniform designer.
Let’s dig him up and kick his bones around the graveyard.

Was the motto on that unit's flag the Latin for "Shoot me! Just feckin' shoot me! NOW!!!"?

As the canteloupe-capped cat said - nothing wrong with the painting, just some 18thC dude with 0 fashion sense.
