My father in law was in 32nd Battalion (Three-two as its called) Recce during the Angolan War. Took part in the battle of Savate and innumerable other skirmishes. Spent two years in the bush. Those were a bunch of mad fekkers.

Yes I have, thanks BvR. What I can’t understand is all the people who pretend and brag they were in 32 and never were. My FiL says you can tell the guys who were, and the guys who weren’t a mile away.

Nic has already said he’s leaving his medals to me (the one is cast from one of the tanks they took out). And even more rare and sought after, the kit he actually wore on the border.

We have other words. You would be surprised how many people I have met who found the Rio Blanco deposit in Peru. I always fix them with a look of worshipful admiration.

Way beck when in PNG in the nineties, I met a lot of people who scraped John Miles into a body bag, but few of them knew the name of the pilot, CA and Warden who were scraped into bodybags on the same day.

Just about finished some shiny Russian artillery crew.

Starting to prep some old school figures - Garrison Greeks and Minifigs D&D pig orcs. After some rules perusal I’ll be using Warhammer 2ed for both my fantasy and ancients old school stuff (they’ll be designed to cross over). For me the rules have a nice sweet spot between WRG and Tony Bath style rules. And single based so they’ll work for Dragon Rampant and maybe make up Frostgrave warbands too. I’m going have to work a Greek style colony into my fantasy continent though as I don’t think I did that on the original map.

This is a good book on the subject, written by someone actually there. My FIL managed to get it autographed by the author for me

That shouldn't be a problem, even Alexander found unexpected Greek communities. Admittedly, his response was to exterminate them but that's what meglomania does to you.
