Role Playing Corner
Re: Role Playing Corner
This may come as a complete surprise to you, Simon, but I would love to rediscover the delights of D&D books one to three and Greyhawk. Dice standing in for mules and a DM cheating his bottom off to encourage a good adventure.
I visited the Civil Service club one evening last year to find a RPG in full swing. Not a figure in sight and lots of discussion about 'character progression' and 'motivation'. Not my cup of tea......I want to be a Cleric, and beat the crap out of orcs with my morning star. "Coming through......arrrrrrrgggggggh, kill, kill".

Re: Role Playing Corner
I'd be interested in giving it a try. Played lots of D&D years (and years) ago, some Runequest (which I like), Call of..., and one of the superhero ones. And Dredd. I do prefer hacking my way through a dungeon rather than sitting in the local Inn discussing the moral dilemmas of the last adventure...
And I Iike to have figures....

Remember, in a little over a week you'll be in punching distance...
Re: Role Playing Corner
Have been playing RPGs for around 35 years now.... Traveller (various incarnations) D&D (currently in a 5e campaign), Fading Suns... just about everything at some time.

And I'd Iike to have a figure that I can photoshop to look like an army.

I'm happy to let Paul off that as he's giving me a lift to Fram...
Re: Role Playing Corner
I actually found some of the D&D figures I painted flubberlubberflubberlub years ago in amongst my quite recently departed friend's collection. Included was my cleric, with a big mace.............arrrrrgggggh kill, kill...........sorry.

Re: Role Playing Corner
Bloody hippies.
Who am I kidding though, I loved D&D!
Greyhawk, Forbidden Realms, bit of Al-Qadim, Dragonlance (all the bloody way through)
Also WFRP, Stormbringer, Traveller, various Palladium malarkey & of course: CoC.
Too mainstream? Lords of Creation, Justifiers (cringe-inducingly “furry”, in hindsight) Cyberpunk, Merc, Twighlight 2000, Aftermath, Privateers & Gentlemen, Pendragon, Top Secret, Boot Hill, and even... Vampire. Yeah, I know.
I’ve checked for traps and listened at the door in all of them and more.
If we’re doing vanilla D&D I’ll have a gnomish thief, thanks.
Max out DEX, dump stat WIS, skill points in “bluff”.
