Not sure if this is the right part of the forum, but here goes.....
My club (Wessex Wargames Society) is commissioning several sets of dice in commemoration of an "average joes" FoGR competition we are currently running, incorporating a few sets already made for Stuart Mulligan of Army Royal blog fame - some of you may already be familiar with sets 1) to 4); the two Tudor sets were originally done on white dice, but these only come with black spots, and I think green dice with white spots would look more "Tudor".
If any of you would like to come in on this, it would take most of the sets into a lower price bracket, which would be quids in for everyone, plus you'd have some unique dice. Here are the sets we are looking at, all are 16mm dice (so standard size), with the device always printed (not lasered as some are two colours) on the 6 side:-
1) Tudor Set #1 (Tudor rose): green dice/white spots/Tudor Rose
2) Tudor Set #2 (dragon): green dice/white spots/Red Dragon
3) Maximilian Imperial (eagle): yellow dice/black spots/black Double-headed Eagle
4) Valois French (fleur-de-lys): blue dice/white spots/gold Fleur-de-Lys
5) Imperial Spanish (cross of Burgundy): yellow dice/black spots/red Ragged Cross
6) Royal Scottish (lion): yellow dice/red spots*/red Lion of Scotland
7) Venetian (lion): red dice/white spots/gold Winged Lion
8) Milanese (red cross): red dice/cross of St George on white shield
Other designs could also be considered - eg Swiss, or Papal (not PayPal!).
(* The normal format for yellow dice is black spots; however, the company does a yellow die with red spots as a special item and we are investigating that option; if not, it will be yellow dice/black spots. Another alternative, which would cover the Civil War era as well, is blue dice/white spots/ yellow shield with red lion.)
Apart from the Milanese, we are past the minimum order of 25 per design on all of them, and already up to 50 on types 2) and 3), so you are free to order as many, or few, as you want. We are hoping to put in an order in time to have them back before Xmas (28-day turn-around), so if there is any interest, please let me know asap. I should stress that this is not a profit-making exercise, so what you will be charged will be the unit price (times however many you order), plus VAT, plus a share of the P&P. We currently reckon this is somewhere between 60-70p per die, but more orders will take us into a lower unit price bracket which could lower that by 10-15p or so each.
Any takers?

Curse you, Brendan.
Re: Would you like some Renaissance Dice?
Great idea and thought about getting French and Spanish dice though as I haven't decided what rules I'm going to use for my Eytal wars stuff I'd have no idea how many I'd need!
Re: Would you like some Renaissance Dice?
I’m a sucker for dice. So yeah. I’ll take 12 Tudor Set #1 (Tudor rose): green dice/white spots/Tudor Rose and 12 Royal Scottish (lion): yellow dice/red spots*/red Lion of Scotland

You’re considering paying for dice from Brendan ? Have you seen him trying to get British Grenadiers to charge ?

Feck... never considered that. I’ll get Jaimie to use them in our campaigns..goat major wrote: ↑Sun Oct 21, 2018 9:30 pm You’re considering paying for dice from Brendan ? Have you seen him trying to get British Grenadiers to charge ?

So long as I don't get any of your 'special dice' with two 1's and no 6's. I'll see if I'm financial at weeks end.

Yes please, I’ve a couple of sets of Stuart’s dice already and was hoping for more variety. When do you need an order by?

Re: Would you like some Renaissance Dice?
Thanks - I wasn't expecting to get replies this quickly! They aren't restricted to the Renaissance period, obviously - and all dice will be kept in their packaging, so no chance that I will "taint" them in any way. No, sir!
Another Scottish option we are considering is blue dice/white spots/yellow shield with red lion, which could also serve for Montrose/ECW, so let me have your thoughts if this would be more useful.
I'm a bit conflicted about the French dice, as they should really be red with a white cross for this period, and the blue/gold FdL is purely a royal symbol. However, if it bulks up the order and makes them more useable..... We may make up the first version at a later date, as one guy at Wessex wants a Knights of St John army.
Using green dice will provide variety for those of us who already have some of Stuart's Tudor dice (the Maximilian ones will be the same, though).
If I could have orders by this Friday please - they take about 28 days to produce, and that way we can post them all out in time for Xmas.

Probably a stupid question (but as i'm currently fighting an illness that feels like malaria at 80% i'm allowed the odd stupid moment)!
How many dice are in a set?
I'd like twelve dice of the Tudor #2 style and twelve Scottish dice (blue ones would be better). If that doesn't work with the numbers in a set just let me know
