Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a bad show at all. In fact, for traders per square foot, it would be hard to beat. My point was that it’s always the same traders selling the same thing at every show. Of course it’s their living, so they must, I just wish shows had more participation games. I think that’s more of what I’m after these days.

Yeh the trader mix tends to be quite repetitive regionally. So as you are finding out most northern shows are the same group.

Hanmerhead is best for participation but the partisans are well served as well.

I’m seriously thinking of games expo next year for a weekend so that I can properly do some participation games - although I think that’s more board games and RPGs

Yes, I decided this year that Games Expo is a must for me next year. I wanted to go this year, but real life intruded. How many days you going for GM? I’m thinking arrive early Saturday and depart Sunday afternoon. I’m going for the RPG segment mostly.

I only bought two things at Fiasco and I’ve finished them both
TBF they were only MDF inserts for RUBs (TLAs rule).

Good to meet Jeremy and Jamie and the latest Loose Ass (in all senses of the word I suspect) Toby.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

Hadn’t got that far planning yet. Yes I guess RPGs might be mostly what I’d play

Had a pleasant day, avoided Loose Asses like the plague 😁 apart from TimW because he took me there. Saw LT in the distance, looking furtive & making off. Bought my figures for next Ayton, and an MDF building. I suppose I'd better paint them really. Chatted with a fair few people what I know, it was good enough for a small show, and of course has the Armouries to visit too, which we did.

I didn't think the quality, amount and participation of games were up to past Fiascos but I made a nucence of myself long enough at the Durham Club ancients game that they had to talk to me. They were very helpful once engaged. Traders were OK, again I've seen better at Leeds, but also worse. Daves Wargames isn't as cheap as he used to be and very poor choice. I'd hoped to buy some Victrix plastics but at many stands they were broken in the poor plastic bag packaging they do now. Picked up a few bits n' bobs from Young Leon's place as usual. Pre-ordered some storage basing from Warbases. Most usefully started a new project I've been considering for years, late Rebublican Roman. Went for some 1st Corps for now but the Durham guys gave me lots of pointers to check out this week. Will be a slow burn project to replace my WWII stuff now I have the bulk of that done I think.

A good day out with the accompanying potter next door to look at guns n' stuff. Hope to make Stockton but that might well complete my show circuit until Vappa. Like Jamie says they get a bit samey after a while but it's good to get ideas and meet like minded folk.
