Rank & File was good when i played it last year (my only experience)

I'd also be against a move towards an official set of rules but i don't see anything in this thread to suggest that. HoW is good fun and easy to adopt - with flaws as covered above. For my solo games i'll be using HOW, SS&S, Black Powder and Sharp Practice - as the the mood takes me.

All Pickleds look the same when trampled into the mud so i hadn't picked up the distinction.

Although I enjoy the games I've had with HoW, I'm not entirely convinced they are for me - a bit too predictable for my liking. I like Rank and File and I'm still a Black Powder fan. Perhaps if we do another game at my place next year, we'll use BP to ring the changes.
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

I was going to agree with Mr Goat but seeing as he's being very rude I'm not going to.

I do however agree with Gary.
