Osprey Oddities

Post by tim.w »

I'm curious about some of the new rules coming from Osprey Publishing. Broken Legions - fantasy skirmishes in the Roman Empire seems right up my alley. Had a little preview on the Osprey site and it looks very good. Going to have a good thumb of a copy on Sunday, might also have a good long hard stare at Victrix's new Romans too, not that I'm starting any new projects of course. Gaslands - post Apocalyptic (Mad Max)style car combat also had me very interested. Having done some online reading it sadly sounds very faffy with the need for about £50 worth of templates and gubbins to play, which put me right off. Kit bashing maxbox cars though!

Broken Legions generally seems to get hammered in online reviews, I haven’t seen them myself though.

I like a lot of the Osprey rules, all the LR variants, the Ronin variants and all the IHMN stuff

Might be worth having a look at Footsores 'Gangs of Rome' then ;)

"Gangs of Rome
You are the ambitious Head of a Roman household and you begin your story in troubled times.
Gather your fighters and equip them well.
Your bloody journey begins now.
Welcome Dominus, to Gangs of Rome!
Hold on to your sandals and watch your back!
Things are about to get bloody."
