Re: Most elaborate prep?
I tend to confuse mould lines with actual sculpting and have spent a frustrating afternoon removing some Dark Age peasant's shoelaces. At least you can reclassify the head ones as "typical pre-NHS facial disfigurement" (interesting that you never seem to see people with neck goitres any more, isn't it?). I shuddered when someone warned everyone buying the "Cruel Seas" WI supplement with the free ships that the "mould line" around the hull of the E-Boat that he had carefully removed is actually to prevent the bow-wave riding up the side of the hull at high speeds. Until that point, I had been quite proud of myself for removing it from the 1:700 versions a friend sent me.....

To show just how unobservant I am, I'm currently painting some Mindens and only noticed, after undercoat and 2 colours applied, that 2 of the figures were missing their right hand!
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

I’m currently OCDing over a bunch of pre-painted figures on which the previous owner has FAILED TO REMOVE FLASH & RUNNELS BEFORE DAUBAGE.
That’s just plain bad.

Do I get a medal (to wash and degrease before wearing it)?
