Martin did an excellent article in Battlegames once too - very useful but can't quite remember which number

In summary. There is ony one matt varnish, testors dullkote; all else is apostasy.

It was difficult (and expensive) to get in th UK a while back so wasn't an option then. I don't know if the situation has chnaged now.

Although in the case of Humbrol Clear Gloss you need about six...

I relied totally on Dullcote spray but I’m told it isn’t on sale anymore, in the U.K./EC at least. My last supply was courtesy of GM. I suspect I’ll try W&N Matt brush-on when the can splutters it’s last.

In terms of spray I understand temperature (do it in the warm) and giving it a good shake are helpful, although Dullcote seemed immune to any handling errors.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.
