Would have been 'fantasy fun for all the family', but I've been playing it solo bah humbug style.
It's the Frostgrave spin-off game, where you sort yourself out with a ranger character and a small posse of companions, and go forth to take on the nasty evil that's attacking the kingdom.
The scenarios are all different, offering plenty of entertainment and challenges. Well, my warhound keeps dying, so it must be challenging! I'm a few games in and, although the table set ups have taken a bit of effort to get about right, it's proving to be an excellent game. It'd be fun as a collaborative 2 ranger game too I reckon.

I've been unable to resist. I've got this as well as the newest FG installment, Maze of Malcor. I'm interested to give the Rangers game a go soon, tho I'd hate to see my wizard, Harry Twatter, neglected as a result...
Anything jump out at you as far as differentiating modifications to the FG system, aside from the obvious?

The reduction in magic and spells is an obvious difference, as you'd suspect, as is the solo or collaborative stance.
The missions, with their objectives, clue points and the skills tests you need to take, make some very interesting changes compared to Frostgrave. The ranger levelling up offers lots of options too.
JM's talent for creating new settings and plotlines is impressive. It's a very good fresh take on the original game.

He has developed a very successful model. The fanbase is generally very involved. When he invited entries for magic items to be included in Spellcaster #3 he liked my entry enough to work with me on shaping it to fit the core story.World2dave wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 9:17 pm JM's talent for creating new settings and plotlines is impressive. Ghost Archipelago is different enough from the original to provide a less magic based game as well.

I think Buffs spelling is very good.
Nice Goblin bothering Dave. Much more of this and you’re going to have to get a heavy metal t shirt.
