When Buff is a smouldering pile of burnt flesh with a fizzling Dremel clone that has failed with catastrophic and terminal results gripped in his clawed blackened hand he'll be ruing the day he didn't buy a proper Dremel and you'll all not be laughing then...Well...not laughing too much...

Just bought the Steve Barber book on painting ACW miniatures. Not as good as I had hoped.

The painting is barely acceptable wargames standard and there is very little discussion of authenticity and colours. No blending here, just drybrushing, layering or washing. There have been better discussions of ACW painting in Wargames Illustrated and i was hoping this would go a stage further and in more depth. Oh well, I have a birthday present for my nephew.

If it's not £80 how can you possiblyuse it to drill out 5 hands a year and still call yourself a wargamer?

You are supposed to keep silent about such things and then simply sell it at Ayton.Zenbadger wrote: ↑Sun Jan 20, 2019 11:02 pm The painting is barely acceptable wargames standard and there is very little discussion of authenticity and colours. Re: What are people buying?
But they are going to be bringing out another five volumes on how to select the right shade of blue?
I thought all blue military dies were Humbrol dark blue, except Prussian blue, which is Humbrol dark blue with a bit of black in there.
