Too soon to decide and, to be brutal about it, a poll here is no way to decide.
By all means have a discussion here but being that people who are totally unable to attend, or have never attended could potentially stuff the ballot box we could end up with a game which very few people playing actually wanted to play.
I voted 'none of the above' because there is no 'decide at Ayton' option.
For the sake of a discussion though, if we want to celebrate the 10th anniversary then there really are only two choices, C18th, as it is the Tradition or Shinies as they are very much in the Original Spirit of Ayton.
Ayton 2020 Poll and discussion
Re: Ayton 2020 Poll and discussion
By no means is this meant to be the decider on what we play in 2020 Paul. I started it as many people were asking which way the feeling for 2020 was heading. This is a response to those questions.
Happy to take it down if people are going to get their knickers in a knot about it

Re: Ayton 2020 Poll and discussion
I'm in full agreement with you on this Paul, by far the best way to decide the issue will be over pints on Saturday night when we meet this year, 'tis our tradition. Personally I was taken by the 17th century idea, not interested in the rather tedious 18th century nonsense, and now you mention shinies, which would be totally brilliant. So my vote is we decide at Ayton 2019 as is our way.Paul wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 9:37 am Too soon to decide and, to be brutal about it, a poll here is no way to decide.

Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

Re: Ayton 2020 Poll and discussion
i also vote for discussion face to face and pint to pint at Ayton this year
Re: Ayton 2020 Poll and discussion
I agree entirely - this year's attendees should decide. If I get a proxy vote, since I fully intend to be there in 2020, I'd be happy with pretty much anything except Zombies. If 18th Century is what you decide, can I please put in a plea for it to be scaled back - I know I'm probably the worst culprit when it comes to an arms race, but reverting to a nice little campaign with forces small enough to allow us to reach a positive result on both days would get my vote.
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

Perhaps I should have been more clear in my first post so all you 'literal types' are not offended.
I've edited the first post for further clarity. You can all unwind your knickers now....

I'm happy to leave it to the usual after hours arguing group. If there is an unexpected groundswell for zombies may I suggest making it 1930's zombies to reuse this year's terrain and a lot of the defenders.

Surely a facsimile of Ayton would be....how can I put this politely.....timeless?

Yes, tradition must be upheld.
This needs to be debated over three glass-cluttered tables, a stench of Peelers arse in the air, Andy well into the vodka part of the evening, Iain sitting proud, deflecting light ribbing, GoatMajor at the bar getting the most expensive round, me seeking shelter from a sex starved country housewife, Ken with enough wine in him to be talking about robots and a wrinkly boob at the window.
That said...
