I've taken advantage of the PSC & Battlefront sales to enlarge my 1944 British and Germans. Now I just need to build and paint them all...

With it looking increasingly likely that Battlegroup South 2019 at Bovington is going to be on the weekend of 12-14 July, my oppos and I have decided to do 'First Clash: The Game of the Book' as our game at the show (Canadians v Soviets circa 1984).

"I've got virtually everything we need - only a few bits needed"...

Ah, I've only got 12 Canadian M113s in my collection - and I need around 48...

And three BTR-60s, a BRDM-2U, a BRDM-2/AT-5 and three MT-LBs from Skytrex, two platoon packs of Canadian infantry, a pack of Cobras and a pack of Hinds from Flames of War and some heavy weapons from QRF...

So that'll be about £250 for 'a few bits' then...

I finally broke my duck and went to the Bovington show last year. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Sadly, I'm not allowed to go this year.

I told you they prefer it if visitors wear clothes......

Always one of my favourite shows, Bovvy. I’ve rather missed it in the last couple of years.

I've been stuck on the wrong shift-cycle for Bovvy since 2014. Then last year they moved it back one week to my weekend off! Yay!

But my wife's god-daughter had booked her wedding for that weekend, based on the fact that it was my weekend off... Boo!

Bloody inconsiderate of her for being so considerate... :(

Anyway, re this year's Bovvy: an 'imminent announcement' has been 'imminent' since last week, but rumour has it that it's on the 2nd weekend of July (same as last year).

What was she thinking, didn't she have a calendar of wargames shows so that her wedding didn't clash?

Ah, the lace. FIW uniforms were clearly more practical, and I could nearly paint them in my sleep. Fortunately for my SYW interests, I have an older friend who's planning to pass his old school collection, rather substantial, on to me. So while I'm in no hurry for that moment to arrive, I can at least rest easy that I won't be painting any in the meantime.

And, as I've managed to cut through the Gordian knot of perfecting Blue, I sleep well at night, as if I'm one with the Cosmos.

It’s the lace. It’s a nightmare. I know the Lignt company’s removed their lace in the America’s.
