Optimum table height

Post by World2dave »

I am planning a permanent gaming table, any thoughts on the best height to go for would be appreciated guys.
I'm thinking of something around 85cm, kitchen counter height. I will avoid the obligatory Purps gag, just to be good.

But at 85cm, you’d need a step ladder when you invited Purps round? Or would that just not happen?

If Purps makes you gag, then maybe you’re both doing it wrong?

Given that none of us is getting any younger, I would have a serious chat with Levied Troop of this parish, whose group has - IMO - the best table height of any participation/demo game you will see at shows in the UK. It's a bit higher than kitchen counter top, but then (a) you get much more storage space underneath and (b) you don't get people leaning on and/or filling the actual playing area with unsightly junk due to the big "put your clutter here" areas at each end.

The shed table is kitchen worktop height, Dave. I have my painting table the same height - not that that's particularly relevant.

mine are kitchen units at standard height. Works well for playing a game or a worktop when standing (scenery making etc)

My table will be held up by big breasted naked wenches. And they will make it whatever height I like.

Definitely.
I would probably even give it a couple more inches.

Cut out the obligatory crotch photo and games look so much bette pr with height.
I was always rather enamoured with LTs size.

Looks like somebody has found themselves a dedicated wargames room?

Fill your boots with my last post. Euphemism wise.
Just don’t try and ram it home to hard.
