How does this differ from "By force of Arms" also by Duffy? Is that Volume 2, or a completely different book?

That is volume 2, this is volume 1 and has been out of print for at least 8 years.

Combined they make the definitive work on the Austrians in the period.

Also noticed a 2ed of his Army of Frederick the great, which is good as s/h again it was expensive, same as the Army of Maria Theresa.

Nobody needs to know about the pesky Austrians !
Glad I’ve dropped £££s on his originals though! Grrr Cheers Fred! 🧐

Amazon do have some books listed at stupid prices, someone here has explained why before?
I’ve found them for way under on eBay but not as good as some ridiculous charity shop finds I’ve heard of.
My Duffy shelf is pride of place at purple eye level height on the bookshelf.
So third shelf up for you lot.

I think that they have a high school economics supply demand curve and it goes hyperbolic if there is only one tome for sale.

I paid 20 quid for a new Guerra del Pacifico book that was on sale for $250 used.

These two complete my Duffy collection, apart from his Somme book, which is also excellent.

Favourite is Eagles over the Alps, always makes me want revolutionary wars french, austrians and russians!

Listen, any goodwill you may have accumulated with Jones, Bassey et al, has been amply offset by Shakin’ Stevens.
