Re: What's on your workbench?
It’s only a few weeks to Ayton, so what better time to start a new project? My BUM still needs filling out, but I couldn’t be arsed at the minute.
I started these Warlord Games plastic Naps French earlier this week. Wanted to try some speed painting techniques that didn’t look too shit, as well as to try and find a suitable blue. Still need to flock and put a flag on them. And paint another 24 for this unit alone. Not my best work, but happy with the result. If I can do 12 a week, hopefully I’ll finish the army before I die.....

Lovely artillery, Mark. Love the figures.
Cracking stuff Jez. Good luck with the new project. Don't neglect your BUM though...
Are you sure about that blue?

Nice bit of speed painting, although at 1:20 you’re going to need all the speed you can get!
If I might offer one suggestion - forget the eyes. It takes too long, a simple wash will generally work and they currently all look shocked, shocked I say, to find out there’s fighting taking place on this battlefield!

I get lockdown, but I get up again.

Yeah, I thought the same when I took the pic. I’ll probably put a wash over as you suggest.

Reckon you've got the blue dead right.

Agree on the eyes - and I commend you on your progress. I've managed maybe 8 figures total for my aspirational SP2 project.
Re: What's on your workbench?
Thanks chaps. I’ve put a wash on the eyes, and they aren’t as startling any more. It’s also a curse of these new modern phone cameras. They pick up so much detail that the eye (well my tired old eye) doesn’t see. From a foot away, the eyes look normal.HMS Priapus wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2019 12:41 am Agree on the eyes - and I commend you on your progress. They are great, what are you using for the gold, it looks really good.

Thanks Zen. It’s a Vallejo game colour (I’ll send the specifics when I get home) with a Vallejo sepia wash
