Despite an early flurry due to painting for a planned game, my painting has been painfully slow over the last six weeks... I really should have stuck with my original target of 1,000 points...

It's taken me six weeks to achieve this...



That's 7x 15mm M113 APCs for 84 points and 2x 15mm Leopard 1 turrets. Count the turrets as half a vehicle? 12 points for the pair? If so, that's 96 points for this batch and brings my total to 996 points.

Matron is above reproach, the last person to question her virtue was that little weasel Matthew Jones of the Third Form. He claimed to have seen her sneaking into the head gardener's cottage at night. The Headmaster was gratified to learn that she had simply been treating Hodges for a back injury.

The Head had intended to write to Jones' parents inviting them to find him a place at another establishment but the wretched boy was killed by a shell splinter in an earlier skirmish. We shall not dwell on the words of Dr Hartnell, the music teacher, who said that it looked more like a bayonet wound to him and that he had been a medical orderly in the trenches who had seen plenty of both types of injury.
