Not at all. I posted that in response to Gary’s question earlier. My plan is to paint up a good sized force for To the Strongest, so it will probably end up at about 200 hundred odd figures. I’m merely using this project as incentive to get my A into G.
I’m also going to be painting these in conjunction with my Naps so I don’t go blind and mad, so the project will be a slow one.
Re: The Pointy Stick thread
I seem to recall having about 200ish figures in my Saxon Army and that was probably around 2000 points. So 1500-2500 would give some manageable figure numbers.
Just as a thought, any army after 1066 (and many after about 500AD) will generally murder earlier armies. So if there is a possibility of shunting all these projects together at a later point for a big game or two it might be better to steer people towards pre 500AD armies?

Alright, I’ll confirm my campaign into Kanbanistanoria.
I’ll do some units of classic 25mm of which my armies type is complete mystery as I’m far behind the great river...
All you know is that the people are called Purporian and there king is called Fedredicus the Gloryfole.
I’m not shopping until post Ayton.

Re: The Pointy Stick thread
I’m doing 28mm Gripping Beast Arabs, plus some funky friends, as the majestic army of Byzarbia. I would have gone old school with the minis, but had already bought hundreds of these buggers for Ayton ‘18 that never got used, so waste not, want not and all that.
This may grow to be really quite large, but as Simon says, this is just a fun thing that grew out of a casual conversation. The continents I have created around my previous campaigns are being backdated by a couple of thousand years to accommodate this lunacy so we can indeed do a Hyborian-style thang.

I've started a medievally type army. No name as yet, but it will almost certainly be something very unimaginative.
One unit is done and based.
Hurrah.
