Digging in the lead pile has unearthed some Aventine Repo Romans, some old Gripping Beast and Foundry along with the Minifigs I was looking for. I might paint the Aventine in a full shaded style, the Minifigs for the shiny cabinet and swap the others.

The plan has always been Republican Roman, Most likely in the modern style with the minifigs as a one-off unit, the Aventines are far too nice and I seem to have quite a lot of them.

Right, decision made. If it's WAB then I'll do Mycenaeans - gives opportunities for Warriors of Legend running around in chariots, so Achilles and the Myrmidons and all that jazz. What's not to like? Now to start planning figure purchases. What sized units is everyone going for?
You can put me in the kanban GM

If you’re interested Gary I found a Mycenaean army (unpainted) in the lead pile while searching for the Egyptians. All Foundry I think. I’ll never get round to it.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

That would be great LT. If they're Foundry I'll have them. If you let me know what you want for them perhaps we can do business at Ayton?

Aventines are quite big figures aren't they?
I'd like to use my old SB Mongol light horse which are quite small and get some other figures to turn them into a different army but I don't think Aventines would fit which is a shame as they have what I want!

They fit in well with Warlord and Victrix plastics, only slightly larger than Foundry. Not especially large and a lot slimmer than A&A. They do tower above minifigs though.

I would vigorously dispute such a wild statement.
If I hadn’t uncovered 3 Bronze Age armies I'd completely forgotten about.
