Blimey! Where are you getting them from? I have some Stadden Napoleonic 25s....gorgeous, but very slim figures. I'd definitely go with 18mm as a max.

Also Surens Willy figures.
Yes. Spencer Smiths also carry them but obviously you’d wait 34 years for them to arrive. I’d love to do a featherstonesque project in awi with them to.
All for the future :geek:
A splendid intention - I hope it works out. Failing that, will Foundry fit a 20mm base?

No you need a 19mm base for foundry EB.

Special offers on Crusader miniatures ancients at the minute. £35 for 12 cavalry. Might be time to get my Roman horse.

Painting started with some Hastati. The question is - if I am going for 4 "legions" with one unit of each (velites, hastati, principes, triarii) should I go for a basic unit size of 12 or 16? I had originally planned for 24 which is why it never got started, I need to be sensible this time.

I’m going to do units divisible by 6 and then they can work for various Rampant games as well

Good point, 12 initial with an option on expansion to 18 after the second legion.

12 seems quite small, 18 sounds good :)

Yes but there will be 16 units plus allies and cavalry so I can get a nice checkerboard formation.
