magazine question
Re: magazine question
1977 is given in The Courier’s History of Wargaming but not the month. But if you squint at the image accompanying it the month is October.
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!

Re: magazine question
Since my June 1975 issue is volume 2 number 6, this would imply that "Battle" started in January 1974. Battle re-merged with Military Modelling in November 1978. The June 75 issue contains the first of Charles Grant's "On Matters Military" series, dealing with cavalry charges, and it's the only thing in the magazine that could be said to be wargames-related. The first one actually labelled "Battle for Wargamers" on the cover is October 1977.

Re: magazine question
Perfect thank you. I hadn’t realised quite how short lived it was

Re: magazine question
In my possession I have 2 hard backed embossed magazine binders labelled as follows:
"Battle 1976" and "Battle for Wargamers 1978".
The magazines therein are similarly labelled, and the article content does show a shift, as do the front cover pictures.
Helpfully, I don't have the missing link - the 1977 binder...

Re: magazine question
I remember all the kerfuffle about wargaming content - a few missing links in that flame war.
