Painting lamps

I'm sure we've had this thread before on one of the older incarnations of the assorted fora but...

I need a new painting lamp. I have a desk lamp that has just broken so is balanced with bits of metal inserted in strategic places to stop it collapsing, and a floor lamp. Both have big daylight bulbs in but I can never get them angled correctly to give decent light. So I think I need one of them there strip lamp things.

Recommendations please? Preferably of a budget type...

I have three daylight LED adjustable strips from Hobbycraft. They were about £20 each I recall. I find they do the job for me, two in front and one to the right.

Bite the bullet and get an electrician to install LED strip lights. Marvellous.

You could strap an LED light to your head like a miner's lamp. That'd sort things nicely. It would also help when getting up in the night to go to the loo.

I shall Google the Hobbycraft ones as I have a store nearby.

I can't afford electricians.

I got an LED lamp from Amazon for around £25. It has adjustable brightness and 'colour'. I would maybe like it a bit brighter than it goes. But it does the job nicely and even has a USB charging socket!

Don't, spend the money and get a good quality one.

I splashed on a big LED desklamp, with adjustable dimmer controls and wished I had it all my life, it is that good.
