Thanks guys, I'm sure I'll figure something out.

Do whatever looks good/right to you
Re: Ayton 2020 - The Official Planning Thread
Just got my order from Perry Miniatures. I can get cracking with my army. Just need to settle on a colour scheme now.
Re: Ayton 2020 - The Official Planning Thread
Don't make my mistake...I made the schoolboy error of getting an army who predominantly wore white...….I hate painting white.
Re: Ayton 2020 - The Official Planning Thread
It's almost as bad as yellow. Most of my figures are either Prussian or Bavarian.

I like painting white. And red.
Re: Ayton 2020 - The Official Planning Thread
What about basing command figures?
Re: Ayton 2020 - The Official Planning Thread
Again, EB is the basing guru
Re: Ayton 2020 - The Official Planning Thread
Whatever you like, really. Most people include the command figures as part of the unit, i.e. a twenty four figure battalion would include three, four or five (the exact number is up to you) command figures. Traditionally, flags and commanding officer would be positioned in the centre when the unit forms line.
As an indication of how much this is a matter of personal choice, my Gateway battalions contain 29 figures and they're based like this.......
The middle base is just a little slimmer as it has only five figures. This will count as an average size unit. If it only had 24 figures, it would still be an average size unit.
Cavalry command also usually goes in the middle.........your'll enjoy that dilemma when you get to it.
