Got a game of Bolt Action at the club last night, finally used my Tim Hall pro-painted German veterans against a very tooled up Soviet force. The Germans turned out so expensive points wise I only had x2 squads of 8 men a sniper team and officer, took a regular Panther and a Hanomag too. Facing me was a load of assault engneers, smg shock units, cavalry, scout car and a truck festooned with maxims.
I ended up winning, Ruskies couldn't get their panzerschreks to work (thank you Mr Schindler) so the panther survived and the hanomag made it almost to the end. My two grenadier units got whittled down but clung in with two men each surviving, officer made it too but sniper team got surounded in a wood and shot up by the scout car after a failed rout by the pistol armed cavalry. Ruskies got shot up pretty bad, loosing half their units and the truck with vapourised under fire from the grenadiers.
Good game! Hopefully playing a few SAGA games next.

Glad to hear there was no "new unit" syndrome.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

My experience with BA is that when you have an overwhelming superiority in numbers (Russkies or the ‘rookie’ French option) you just have to point them at something and let the BUCKETS OF DICE do their stuff.
My experience with elite forces like Jerry veterans is... erm... non existent.
