Cheers chaps! Something I realised about half-way through is that having worked out the size of the defended perimeter in scale and then built the trenches, there's actually very little room left in the middle for buildings, as the trenches are of course, a hell of a lot wider than in reality. I should have warped the ground-scale and expanded the central part of the town, but oh well... We'll get a few buildings in there for the look of the thing, so no worries.

Finished 12 Chasseur Flankers of the Guard this morning before nipping off to Fiasco.
I have used Alberken/Early Minfigs French Voltigeurs for this unit. I bought these nearly 50 years ago from BMW models in Wimbledon. The last photo shows my how I painted figures as as a youngster.
Painted as Austrians in circa 1972/73.

Wow, there's a name from the past! When I first went there (early 70s) they had given up on Minifigs and were selling Hinchliffe.Ilkley Old School wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2019 6:36 pm I have used Alberken/Early Minfigs French Voltigeurs for this unit. Kein Plan überlebt den ersten Kontakt mit den Würfeln. (No plan survives the first contact with the dice.)

42mm naval infantry for Toscana. I have a major decision to make, do I leave the pompoms white or add a touch of red to the overall blue & white uniform?
