Ayton 2020 - Scenarios for the big game
The plan for Sunday's mighty 18th century game is to discretely divide the long table into 3 sections, each with 2 players per side. The size of these sections will be 7.5 x 6 feet, or 10 x 6 feet depending on the needs of the scenarios, size of player forces, etc.
So, what we would like are member's scenario ideas for the 3 sub-tables. These would be especially welcome from members who aren't able to make the event but would like to contribute in some way. Ideas based on actual battles from almost any period, or wargame/your own scenarios, would be welcome so please post any thoughts you have here.
The only guidelines would be that, because the 3 'battles within a battle' will be adjacent to each other, any waterways bigger than streams would be difficult to accommodate. Also, to avoid the game starting with wall-to-wall deployment, we intend to stagger the arrival of units/forces, so meeting engagements or those where reinforcements march to the sound of the guns would suit particularly well.

If I'm facing Gary can I suggest Rorke's Drift?

If I'm facing the Gateway cavalry, I'd like to pick Little Big Horn.

We could do an early version of Waterloo where the Prussians have their own battle in an adjacent room.
I know when to go out

You culd invite mad Hoffy, the confirmed paedophile to play and tell him it's the main event

Given that the guy could start a fight in a phone box, it would save us the necessity of hiring another room.

But imagine what fun could be had laying the boot into his prostrate form.

As my old school rugby coach used to say: "If you can't kick a man when he's down, you'll never be able to do it when he's standing up."

Surely the only scenarios for this should come from ‘Scenarios for Wargames’ by Charles Stewart Grant - anything else would be blasphemy.
