Kein Plan überlebt den ersten Kontakt mit den Würfeln. (No plan survives the first contact with the dice.)

Lack of chamfering can lead to chafing
You can never have too much of something you never needed to start with

Got some lovely rocks and gravel from Honister Slate mine on a rainy week in the Lakes last year.Wg Cdr Luddite wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 7:46 pm For gravel I usually saunter into the nearest building site and nick some. Tip: hard hat, yellow vest and clipboard are your friends here.

Based on the OP you're more likely to get more pegging talk on this forum.goat major wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 7:14 pm We really need more chamfering talk on this forum. It adds a currently lacking touch of class

And while looking for gravel, coincidentally, walked past our Uni power station (yes, it's a thing) this morning, and noticed big ton bags of gravel sitting outside the delivery entrance. I will wander past later and see if they will let me grab a kilo or so.

I nicked a plastic shopping bag full from a house doing alterations about 10 years ago. I still have enough to see the rest of my basing life out.
