Ayton 2 (The Shiny One)

Post by Tim Hall »

So the hall is booked. Now what about the games. I propose a large 42mm Shiny game on the Sunday, rules will be AGW, and we should have troops a plenty by then. As for Saturday, EB and I want to put on a classic ACW game, with some nice shiny looking 28-30mm Rebs and Yankees on a classically simple terrain, rules will be equally simple, possibly my ACW variant of AGW if I can get it sorted in time. Other players welcome. Does anybody have something they would like to play/run on the Saturday? The only stipulation is that it be shiny.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

Hmm my AGW stuff is all I own by way of shiny soldiers. I'd be happy to play a warm up game of AGW on the Saturday if there are any other takers. Perhaps Peeler might like a game to warm up his new rulebook?

In for the shiny AGW and my forces are growing. I will have all my own army done by then. Happy to do anything on day two. I'd prefer to stay with a simple and shiny theme.

I was under the impression the GM, the Count and W2D had done something shiny with the imagi-nations 19th century types, that would be nice.

Are they toy soldier style or 'modern' style made shiny?

Modern made shiny on simple bases. Newer additions will be less modern...

Any particular period or just general C19th/early C20th? I'm sure I have something knocking about that I could blast with some gloss!

We’ are both converting our 1860/70s 28mm armies from previous Aytons to use with AGW
