Lovely looking game. Are we making a transition to BP for Ayton? Or sticking with HoW?

Lovely looking game guys. How did you get on with Black Powder? I'm slowly coming back to the idea of using them again instead of HoW. Going to try them at my club in a few weeks time, using the 18th century extra rules in the supplement. I'd be interested in your impressions.
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

I don’t mind not using HoW but BP would be awful for Ayton big games, awful.

The supplement is dire, especially for its price. The army lists label all the major nations over a period of 100 years + so that you have the same stats for WSS as you do SYW, etc.
You would have to take the rulebook and rewrite it out into a new booklet so you could actually find things instead of them being spread out over 1500 pages. And make a QRS that is an actual QRS.
And then write some rules to make it relevant to the seven years war...
Or instead buy a different rule set lol

Thank you to gm for being a great host. I enjoyed winning a battle.
It’s a strange feeling. I feel like I’ve some how cheated reality and now all time and space as we know it will begin to unfold...

Well done Purps. Commiserations Simon.
I've played BP after a quick run through and loved them! Takes all sorts. I don't think they would work very well for a multi player game though.

So Purps what we all want to know is .....

Will you be giving EB a tutorial on "how to complete a cavalry charge and win the melee" now that you've managed to be successful for the first time ever?

I'll take whatever advice I can get on the subject.

I hates cavalry.

Ayton 2018. The Gateway cavalry declare a charge. The game goes quiet as we all gather round the melee. "OK, so don't throw a one and you've won the melee". One. Every returns to their command content and sure in the knowledge that god is in his heaven and all is well with the world. The Gateway cavalry makes it's way off the table, quick as it can.
