What o do with two Vickers tanks?

Post by Paul »

Having found that the sole WW2 figures I possess are two Vickers VIb 'tanks' I need to find a use for them.*
My current thoughts are to add them to my Rhodeleland forces for our occasional Kumbaya games
or
Use them as excuse to build, in 28mm, an army I built 15-20 years ago in 10mm for the Battle of Crete....and then leave them in a box and never use them.

Obviously the former is the most sensible, but I do have scenery suitable for Crete and one of my Grandfathers was there :)

*They are far too cute to sell!

Well of course you have the Battle of France. There was also a regiment equipped with them in Greece (4th Hussars?). 'B' Squadron 3rd Hussars also fought the Japanese in Sumatra alongside the Dutch East Indies Army (KNIL). Another British regiment (I forget which) also employed them against the Italians in Ethiopia.

You need a Battle of France project, everyone should have one (in a minimum of two scales).
Also, VBCW.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

They’d look good in Malta camouflage

North West frontier late 30's into 40's. Great excuse for some really epic scenery.

Is the thread title a quote from the anti-invasion planning in 1940?

I just don't really 'get' VBCW :(
I played the Ayton game and have dabbled before, but ended up selling off all my Ayton VBCW stuff except the motorbikes.

My own inclination would be to use them for Malaya, as India Pattern light tanks. My understanding is that they had a different cupola but were essentially identical. Whether they saw any action is dubious, but Mk VIb versus Japanese Type 95s would be fun.
