Now, Dougal, concentrate - these soldiers are small, those are far away.
And those are on the cover of Miniature Wargames during its Ian Dickie period.

Ho ho ho...
Re: What scale next?? 10mm or 6mm?
I should clarify that I was referring of course to Iain Dickie's magazine covers...

Back in the days when the Holy Trinity of UK wargaming editors was Duncan Macfarlane, Iain Dickie, and the late Stuart Asquith, a fellow wargamer described Dickie as "the least mentally disturbed of the three, but not for want of trying".
Praise indeed.

I wish I hadn't seen the Lancashire games newsletter showing me I could get discounts on the Blaze Away 10mm ACW Army packs... must resist... coz now I am thinking I could do ACW Sharp practice on a 4x4 board with less than three division packs. Except, then I would need a whole new set of terrain... snake fencing in 10mm etc.. aarrggghhh.
