I tend to do that, Vallejo German Grey with Tamiya Rubber Black worked quite well. The Andrea Color Black Paint Set is useful if a little weird as you’re applying it and it does need 6 layers, so I reserve it for special figures these days.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

Those look splendid, lovely style. But to me it looks off, with the black facings being lighter in colour than the dark blue coat.

But you know, opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one, but so few are worth listening to. So that's just me.

For the record, I normally use VJ German Grey, then washes of GW Nuln Oil to the shade of 'blackness' I want. Very occasionally, I will highlight with VJ Black Grey then Basalt Grey for utlra highlights on shiny black.

Thankyou for all your feedback.
It was Vallejo German Grey I have on there now. I am going to try some little swabs from all of your suggestions.
Except contracts paints, I have some principles!

Well these days we have to provide our own!
I’ve got some scuba goggles on order from eBay to give me that little extra.

4.99 from China. Should be here in 11-14 weeks.
