I'm pretty sure that my Indians could work up to 1940 ish, even the lancers if the setting is right. If I have a root round in the shed I may even have a Land Rover for my Para's.

Why wouldn't they work all the way to when the Indian army adopted the AK?

Indeed, it occurred to me that if I paint the British and the Para's up as Indian I'm covered for the whole span. I can even use them on opposite sides for a border skirmish.
I shall now experiment with finding a skin tone that pleases me.

That's not true, you're quite "Meh" about Nordic blondes and pale redheads.

Now, a question for those who have fiddled around with big soft soldiers before, will trying to shave off the mould lines do more harm than good?

Depends. With a sharp craft knife, nice new blade - no, should improve them. With a blunt teaspoon.....not so much.

I have a cunning plan for gun crew, Airfix Japanese with the knee mortar. Lose the mortar, swap the head, job done. Anyone want a spare screw gun?
Brit gun crew aplenty in the airfix ‘support group’ set.
Or use the british boer war artillery set, and swap heads.
