LT's Workshop
Re: LT's Workshop
Very nicely done, too. LT, you'll know, did they adopt turn backs on the coats at some point during the WSS? Or did that only come later?

I think the only word to describe them is Stellar!

Re: LT's Workshop
I think that gives me a possible command name, Comte de la Stellar.
I think it varies a lot. The French gave their Colonels a lot of latitude in terms of uniform and flags and from nothing more rigorous than google searches it seems some turn backs appeared in the WoSS, but it was never consistent and not even a progression.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

Nasty looking lot of garlic munchers.
Re: LT's Workshop
Thanks for the reply. I'm a tad confused with it, the Grant books I have show mostly no turnbacks , whereas for example, the Baccus guide shows almost all with them. Never mind, I'll just use my (limited) imagination with my S/Smiths.levied troop wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 12:51 pm I think it varies a lot. Re: LT's Workshop
I think the WSS saw troops fasten their coats back more often because of the prodigious amount of marching that was done (plus the coats had become longer in the previous 20 years or so). Realising how much more freedom of movement they had, the move became more permanent.

Sounds right. So by the WAS, it was pretty universal then. And certainly by the SYW. I presume.
